Hello hello!

I’d like to share a little update that our bandmate Trent has recently been helping/working in an orphanage in Uganda. He’s teaching the kids, building schools, donating supplies & being a terrible football player! It’s an incredibly noble thing to do & I’m so very proud of my brother, we all are! In the picture you see Martin, Mikee and the two juniors at the pond.

We’ll bring you some more updates on Tg’s time there & more to come on mixing our second baby in the European summer!

Our last day in studio!

Today we wrap up our 20 days of recording with our good pal Berkfinger! We still have a few odds and ends to tie up but we’ve put down somewhere in the range of 13-15 tracks - only time will tell with what this becomes! Looking back I guess we already had to cut 3 before we even got in here! But also just a tad sad to see everything packed up.

What we’ve ended up with is this;

Bodies, Berlin Horses, It’s Alright, Paper Tiger, A.S.C.E, Little Bomb, Context, July Kids, Atlantis, Corner Of The Room, Fever Belle, Aerialite, Dark echoes, Friend & Foe, Dark Echoes & Blvd.

Hey hey

So we’re into day 11 in the studio and those of us who have been here every day have gone a little quirky! In-jokes are everywhere! But the good news is we have 13 songs to work with & a bunch of other cool little things happening for this record.

We’re back in Albert Studio’s in Sydney after writing a whole bunch in Melbourne and Berlin. It’s good to have those changes of scenery reflected in our music/style this time around. Speaking of change of scenery there’s talk of heading to a church out in Leichhardt next week to use an old piano we’ve sourced out so I’m personally pumped for that!

Last week we were lucky enough to have Tim Whitten working with us, and of course at the helm is the coke drinking machine Berkfinger. Tis good times & hard work! Here’s some snaps from the last few weeks. xo

Hi again Seabellies fans,

Wow!!! Another tour wrapped up and tucked under our wings already, thanks so much to everyone that made it along to the shows, we had the best time playing for you all. Thanks also to our touring partners The Cairos and Glass Towers our new best of friends, today I remember you always (ha ha!!! there’s some song titles in there, genius!!!). If you didn’t get along early enough to see these guys make sure you check em out sometime in the future as they are truly amazing bands and the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.

We’ve only got a couple more shows to go (Sunday 3^rd of April, Glenelg Surf Club in Adelaide and the 7^th of May at the Uni in Armidale) before we hop into hibernation and crack down on the new songs for album number two. So if you’re anywhere near these locations please come and say “hi” as we’d love to see you.

good day tumblr and .com visitors!

Our clip for our last single ‘Board the Apartment Up’ taken from ‘By Limbo Lake’ is up and living on the wide world of this thing called ‘the internet’. I’ll be perfectly honest, the last coffee I had has given me too much buzz and I’ve since been putting everything in ‘inverted commas’. ‘See’. Can’t stop! Hope you enjoy the fruits of our labour, and please feel free to share this as much as possible for all the hard work from our great director David Ellis & his team put into it! good… morning/afternoon/evening

we are about to embark on tour for our last single Board The Apartment Up. This tour will be wrapping up our touring for By Limbo Lake before we have some down time to record & other exciting news in the works! To get some new songs in shape we are working them into the set for the tour so you’ll be able to catch some new tunes!!

Coming with us on tour are The Cairos and Glass Towers, 2 great bands that we can’t wait to hit the road with. For the full details follow this link.

2011 has been a great deal of fun so far! the festival season always is. Recently a few of us went to the Brisbane and Sydney Laneway Festivals, got to see a few bands I’ve been dying to see for some time now. Foals, Yeasayer and Blonde Redhead were some highlights of mine.

We also took the stage at Good Vibrations in Sydney. Here’s a li’l picture from the day..

Phoenix were the headline set on the night and they are one of, if not the best pop rockers in music! The light show they have going on their tours now is pretty amazing.. maybe not as big as this show though!

Ok well hope to see all your pretty faces at our shows over the next month! Before we kick it all off in Brisbane, we’re playing at the ASP Surfing Awards on the Gold Coast, so we’ll be amongst some pretty good company!

Hello hello

So gathering photos between 6 people is proving quite the process haha, so for the moment I’ve got a few pics from my shattered iphone and seany k’s vintage holga snaps! here is part one of our days in melbourne.. it feels crazy that we’re not down there anymore, I miss it…I shall return though! it all kicked off with our Triple J like a version which you can listen to here… k

and then we we hit the hume…

and then we slept & drove simultaneously. clever huh!

important things come first..

got our rehearsal space in order..

celebrated a bunch of birthdays!

purchased a pet sean for trent (yes random but it all linked in with a facebook promise antony and myself made)

the blood, sweat and tears that went into recreating the famous album covers comp..

played at federation square on a beautiful afternoon with the naked and famous!

then we just went to parks, gigs and did general life stuff haha..

seans holga.. should be interesting how the rest turn out.. the colours looks ace!

our very own michael ‘tiny dancer’ got up onstage at one of our evelyn residency shows.. he was phenomenal!

after we got home there was also a very special christmas party thrown by our management and label (Hub & Albert Music).. a rendition of love is in the air was done by Trent (+ Steph, Ant and Sean on horns) with Old Man River, Dappled Cities and Megan..

and last weekend we enjoyed the festivities at festival of The Sun.. here’s a backstage shot and I’ll be signing off for now! I’ve also added another picture below of the amazing Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire! from our September/October tour.. I think we all fell in love, as a whole band. Like one band courted the other etc.. Hi everyone,

Well we just finished our last residency show last night at the Evelyn and what a way to wrap things up, you Melbourne folk sure know how to party! I think we have all drunk more than double our body weight in beer over countless celebratory nights out and are definitely feeling the repercussions of it now. Melbourne you have the best night life in Australia!!!!

It’s amazing how fast this month has gone, we can safely say that we have experienced Melbourne at its finest in all its glory. It’s been such an inspiring and productive time for us over the last couple of weeks. In amongst the shows and promo we have locked ourselves away in a practice studio meticulously nutting out new tunes for the next album and we are really excited by the results. We’ve already added one newby to the set already with another handful just around the corner and we couldn’t be happier with the direction these new songs are taking. It’s such a thrill to be working on new material again.

So very soon we’ll be making the long and slow drive back to good ol Newcastle. Which might be interesting as one of our cars broke down yesterday and seems very intent on not budging from its nice spot out of the sun. So a few of us might be hitch hiking home I’d say, sounds like the perfect end to a perfect month.
